I recently finished watching a magical girl anime series, Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It has so far been one of the most devastating anime series I’ve ever watched. Word of advice: do not be fooled by the cuteness and innocence of the characters.

Of course, it induced an impulse-drawing spree of my favorite magical girls (personality-wise).

The past few weeks have honestly been very sad for me. I have lost a dear friend due to unresolved trust issues, and it’s weighing me down. Here’s where art comes in, as a convenient mode of expression and a tool for release.

I drew this piece for my friend, thinking of the song he sang to me on a friday evening, “99 Red Balloons”. These, I swear, are my final conscious thoughts of him.

I think of you and let it go.

My buddies got me hooked on a cartoon show called “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic“. It follows the story of 6 ponies with different personalities and how they, well, learn lessons in friendship and dealing with personal (or should I say ponial) problems.

I was kinda hesitant to watch it at first because the graphics look cutesy and whimsical and good enough to eat, but it eventually won me over.

And of course, I tried my hand at humanifying some of them:

Myself as Lulu, or Lulu as myself (with the frizzy hair and lethargic expression and everything)

I’ve been a fan of League of Legends since 2011, sometimes my love for it goes to the point of addiction. I recently joined a growing community of female League of Legends players named PWNStars, where I got to befriend and play with women who are more or less of my age. This is revolutionary in the Philippine gaming scene, where female gamers are the minor demographic.

I made it a thing to draw something LoL-inspired for my newly found gamer friends. Quality is sketchy since I’m still just learning how to use my tablet and Paint tool SAI.
